Established by the Grant brothers in 1840 near the town of Aberlour, it was amalgamated with George & J. G. Smith's Glenlivet distillery in 1953. In 1977 it was purchased by Seagram's of Canada and they then in turn were acquired by Pernod Ricard in 2001. Interestingly, Glen Grant is the only Scottish single malt whisky distillery that is named after its owners. Check out the Glen Grant Distillery.
